OpenOffice原是Sun公司的一套商業(yè)級Office軟件：StarOffice，經(jīng)過Sun公司公開程序碼之后，正式命名為OpenOffice發(fā)展計(jì)劃，并由許許多多熱心于自由軟件的人士共同來維持。讓大家能在MS OFFICE之外，還能有免費(fèi)的Office可以使用。OpenOffice是個(gè)整合性的軟件，里面包含了許許多多的工具，其功能絕對不比微軟的MS Office還差，不但可以有Word一樣的字處理，制作簡單的圖形，更有功能強(qiáng)大的圖表功能，也能編寫網(wǎng)頁，還可以做出MS Office中很難處理的數(shù)學(xué)符號等等，支持了XML、微軟的doc、Excel、ppt文件等格式。
